I have many things to write about: impending move across the country. New job. Funny happenings. Just getting back from Portland. The fact that I’m already picking out our future backyard chickens… and I can’t write about any of it right now.

Right now I have that very special kind of static of the brain that only grief brings. I lost a friend on Friday: one of the kindest 29 year olds I’d ever met and with a 6 year old son who will only ever vaguely remember him.

Life is not fair- it is not supposed to be. But it is always surprising and awful when the really unfair parts happen, and this was definitely one of them.
